Exclusive: Intel acquires San Jose-based chip startup in ’emotional’ homecoming for founder

The acquisition comes as Intel expands its chip offerings to compete in a variety of emerging segments, from automotive to artificial intelligence, while speeding up the time to market for its products. The deal also marks a homecoming of sorts for NetSpeed founder and CEO Sundari Mitra, who got her professional start at the chip giant.
