H&R Block Inc. will refund up to $19.4 million in fees to customers who bought an individual retirement account product, which the New York attorney general claims was a money loser because it charged more in fees than it paid in interest.

A product liability expert should not have been excluded as a sanction for the plaintiff’s failure to comply with a discovery deadline, the 1st Circuit has ruled in reversing a summary judgment. The plaintiff filed a product liability lawsuit after he lost three fingers in a power saw accident.
